BLACK HISTORY MONTH

Sr. Patricia Chappell, a member of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, Connecticut unit, serves as the national co-chair on her community’s anti-racism team. She was the full-time president of the National Black Sisters’ Conference from 1996-2001 and is currently Executive Director of Pax Christi USA.

Fr. Bryan Massingale is one of the world’s leading Catholic social ethicists and scholars of African-American theological ethics, racial justice, and liberation theology. He joined the Fordham theology faculty in the fall of 2016. Previously on the faculty at Marquette University, he received that institution’s highest award for excellence in teaching. He has served as president of the Catholic Theological Society of America and convener of the Black Catholic Theological Symposium.
