Keynote Speakers

John Carr

John Carr is the Director of the Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life at Georgetown University which seeks to share Catholic Social Thought more broadly and deeply and reach out to a new generation of leaders to help them become “salt, light and leaven” in public life. Carr served as the Washington correspondent of America and wrote the Washington Front column for the magazine. In 2012, he was a Residential Fellow on religion and politics at the Institute of Politics of Harvard University. Read more here

Sister Carol Keehan

Sister Carol Keehan, an influential voice for increasing health care access for all and a lifetime advocate for the poor, announced her retirement as president and chief executive officer of the Catholic Health Association of the United States (CHA) effective June 30, 2019. Sr. Carol is the ninth president and CEO of CHA, the largest group of nonprofit health care providers in the nation, serving in the role since 2005. Read more here

Archbishop John Wester

Archbishop Wester is the USCCB Episcopal Moderator of the AUSCP. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of San Francisco on May 15, 1976. Following ordination, he held numerous assignments in parishes and schools of the archdiocese. His archdiocesan positions included administrative assistant to Archbishop John R. Quinn and vicar for clergy. On Sept. 18, 1998, he was ordained auxiliary bishop of San Francisco and appointed vicar general. From 2005-2006, Bishop Wester served as the apostolic administrator of the archdiocese. On Jan. 8, 2007, he was named the ninth bishop of Salt Lake City and was installed on March 14, 2007. On April 27, 2015 he was named Archbishop of Santa Fe. He is a member of the Vatican Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People.
