Catholic Energies Takes Off!

Dan Misleh, Catholic Climate Covenant

I am so pleased to share with you that on July 10 we announced the largest ground- based solar array ever developed in Washington, DC. This project was managed by our Catholic Energies team and benefits Catholic Charities in the Archdiocese of Washington.

Attached is a press release announcing this 2 megawatt project in the District of Columbia for the benefit of Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of Washington. You can also visit to learn more.

This announcement comes on the heels of our first parish project, Immaculate Conception in Hampton, VA. A link to a fine piece by National Catholic Reporter can be found here.

This was a long time coming, as you know. But construction has started, and we anticipate heightened interest within our Catholic community in our Catholic Energies program. Page 1 of 3

Special thanks to Dan Last, our COO for Catholic Energies, for his dogged pursuit of this project!

Think about the Catholic facilities around you. Would they be interested in solar and/or energy efficiency? If so, have them visit Please forward this announcement to your networks!

As always, we continue to seek financial support for our work: both core mission activities (education, organizing, outreach) and our Catholic Energies program which we see as intimately linked.

We thank you for your prayers and donations and ask you to continue to be generous in both.
